Countdown to 2012

As the countdown to the introduction of new gaming machine operational regulations in Victoria in early 2012 continues, the staging of the CHEX assumes even greater importance.

The CHEX timing in June is closely aligned with the expected ‘auction’ of gaming machine entitlements, which the Victorian Government is expected to conduct, most probably in late May or early June 2010 (for further information visit www.gamblinglicences.vic.gov.au)

This will mean that interest, not only in gaming machines and systems but in the related operational, management and monitoring systems, venue design and fit out will be at its height as venues commit to their future business plans.

These commitments will expand to cover planning for all the other equipment, products and services which venues will need to purchase and otherwise provide, to operate successfully in the new and highly competitive regime beginning early 2012.

CHEX 2010 will also see the more direct involvement of gaming machine manufacturers, which exhibited alongside CHEX in 2009. This will add greatly to the overall interest from all industry sectors representing Community Clubs, Licensed Hotels and the Casino.

Plus the many advisers and consultants who will influence the buying decisions across the board for design, build, fit-out and equipment for venues seeking to build or modernise their premises to take advantage of the new opportunities.

Dedicated, Quality Audience

CHEX will be a 2-day event combining the Expo with a number of general and hospitality industry group hosted seminars and workshops. The topics for these sessions will be developed in conjunction with the club and hotel industry representative associations and Government.

The 2-day schedule, based on post event research, is designed to meet the needs of the highly qualified buyers and buyer representatives from these industry groups and will at the same time offer savings to exhibitors by being able to rationalise their on-costs.

Visitor Promotion

The organisers will work closely with the important hospitality industry associations and in proven trade media and visitor promotions involving major exhibitor and sponsor bodies. After four events the organisers have a significant and accurate database of previous registrants to build upon plus the information available from industry and published resources.

The visitor promotion will utilise proven and innovative new methods of communication to a well identified audience which represents the quality buyers, specifiers and regulators in the Victorian Club and Hotels sector ranging from the smallest club to the major hotel groups, Casino interests and other entertainment venues.
